Mayor Gutierrez's Statement Regarding the Death of CHP Officer Andre Moye

For immediate release: August 13,2019

The following is a statement from Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley:

On behalf of the City Council, all City employees, and the residents of Moreno Valley, it is with profound sadness that I regretfully offer our condolences to the family of California Highway Patrol Officer Andre Moye and to the California law enforcement community.

Officer Moye died in the line of duty. He was fulfilling the mission of the CHP, which is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security.  We may never know how many people are safe today because of Officer Moye's service and that of the other injured officers. We can only offer our sincere gratitude to him, our heartfelt condolences to his family and colleagues, and our unwavering support for those who are willing to risk their lives to protect our communities.
