M Lighting - Schedule and Policy

    White

Current schedule of lights on the 'M'

The default color of the 'M' is white. The 'M' is lit from dusk to midnight.

Request Special Color Lighting for the M

The default color is white, but the City often accepts community requests for color lighting for one night
to recognize a specific cause or holiday or promote a local event.

The City reserves the right to deny or modify requests.

  Not approved

The following types of requests will not be approved:

  • Promotion of a product or service
  • Personal recognitions (birthday, wedding, anniversary, etc.)
  • Recurring requests, and requests more than one year in advance
  • Political or controversial requests

Approved color lightings (including those in recognition of multi-day events) are for one night only, from dusk to midnight.

If multiple requests are made for different colors on the same date, preference will be given to requests with local significance or that have significance to the greatest number of residents.

Anniversaries of public events of Moreno Valley significance may be considered, but may be limited to milestone commemorations, such as 1st, 10th, 25th, 50th or 100th anniversaries.

Submit a Request

All requests must be submitted in writing at least two weeks prior to the requested lighting date.
The City reviews each request on a first-come, first-served basis and responds within two weeks. The City’s acceptance or denial of requests is final.
