Tonight, the M on Box Springs Mountain will be lit purple in remembrance of the 21 innocent lives lost—including 19 children and two teachers—in the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Purple is the chosen color due to its similarity to the Robb Elementary School colors.

“There are no words to describe the heartache I have for the victims and their families,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “Our children deserve to live in a world where it’s safe to go to school. On behalf of the City of Moreno Valley, I want to offer my deepest condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy in Uvalde.”
