Moreno Valley's M to be Lighted for National Day of Service and Remembrance

Moreno Valley's iconic M on Box Springs Mountain will shine in red, white and blue from dusk to midnight this Friday, Sept. 11, in recognition of the National Day of Service and Remembrance. The day commemorates the loss of thousands of people in New York City, Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., at the hands of terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001. Thousands more were injured.
“This is a great opportunity for each of us to find a way to make a positive contribution to our community,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley.
The National Day of Service and Remembrance website offers suggestions of simple acts of service, such as donating to a food pantry or non-profit organization, giving blood, and more.

Día Nacional De Servicio Y Recuerdo
La icónica M de Moreno Valley en Box Springs Mountain brillará en rojo, blanco y azul desde el anochecer hasta la medianoche de este viernes 11 de septiembre, en reconocimiento del Día Nacional del Servicio y Recuerdo. El día conmemora la pérdida de miles de personas en la ciudad de Nueva York, Shanksville, Pensilvania y Washington, D.C., a manos de terroristas el 11 de septiembre de 2001. Miles más quedaron heridos.
“Esta es una gran oportunidad para que cada uno de nosotros encuentre una manera de hacer una contribución positiva a nuestra comunidad”, dijo el Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Alcalde de Moreno Valley.
