Moreno Valley, We’ve Got You Covered:
City Launches Free Face Mask Giveaway Program

For immediate release: August 9, 2020

As part of the City of Moreno Valley’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19, MoVal will give away 175,000 masks through the “We’ve Got You Covered” program. The free mask giveaway begins this week, and masks can be picked up at participating grocery stores throughout the City. Masks will also be distributed by Police, Fire, Code Enforcement, and Park Ranger personnel at various City events.

Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez was able to secure mask donations from the U.S. Conference of Mayors, government agencies, local businesses, and other prominent organizations.

“I am glad that we can provide these free face coverings to residents through this program,” said Mayor Gutierrez. “As I have said since the start of this pandemic, proper handwashing, physical distancing, and covering the face can significantly decrease our risk of infection.”

This program was also created in partnership with the County of Riverside’s Masks are Medicine program, aimed at distributing masks in Riverside County.

The City’s goal is to continue to do its part to slow the spread and ensure each household in Moreno Valley has access to free masks. More information and a list of participating locations is available at www.moval.org/gotyoucovered.

La distribución gratuita de máscaras comienza esta semana en toda la ciudad, las máscaras se pueden recoger en las tiendas de supermercado participantes.
