Moreno Valley to Host Emergency Drive-thru Food Distribution Event, Friday, May 22

Responding to the increased food insecurity in the community due to loss of jobs and household income, the City of Moreno Valley will host an emergency drive-thru food distribution event this Friday, May 22, from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the City's Conference & Recreation Center (CRC) at 14075 Frederick St. (Frederick and Alessandro).
Food will be provided by Feeding America, a non-profit organization of more than 200 food banks nationwide.
"A lot of our residents are hurting right now," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez. "One box of groceries won't fix the situation, but it will help, and we're very happy to provide any help we can."
With no qualifying necessary, each car will receive one emergency box full of shelf-stable items, which may contain: soup, pasta, canned vegetables, beans, peanut butter, cereal, and snacks. In addition, if available, they will also distribute fresh produce.

Respondiendo al aumento de la inseguridad alimentaria en la comunidad debido a la pérdida de empleos e ingresos familiares, la Ciudad de Moreno Valley organizará un evento de distribución de alimentos de emergencia este viernes, 22 de mayo , de 8:30 a 10:30 am en el Centro de Conferencias y Recreación de la Ciudad (CRC) en 14075 Frederick St. (Frederick y Alessandro).
La alimentación será proporcionada por Feeding America, una organización sin fines de lucro con más de 200 bancos de alimentos en todo el país.
"Muchos de nuestros residentes están sufriendo en este momento," dijo el Dr. Yxstian Gutiérrez. "Una caja de alimentos no solucionará la situación, pero ayudará, y estamos muy contentos de proporcionar cualquier ayuda que podamos."
