City's government TV channel wins national award
Selected "Best" in the "Special Challenge" category, the video was judged on the quality of the photographic content, effective use of sound and lighting, and the compelling nature of the intended story or message. "I'm pleased to see the award judges found the story compelling. Many of our local viewers gave us positive feedback on the story as well," said Production Coordinator Steve Jacobs. "I'm surprised and excited about the award," he said. "Steve shouldn't be surprised," said Angela Rushen who manages the city's media and communications division and is Jacobs' supervisor. "He is very talented and consistently produces excellent work. This is wonderful recognition for Steve and the city," she said. The award was announced Friday afternoon from Sarasota, Florida, on the Beacon Award Foundation web site through an "Academy Award-Like" Internet broadcast. The Beacon Award Foundation was established for the purpose of recognizing both individual and agency-wide achievement in the areas of government access television and communication operations. This is MVTV-3's third national award. The channel has received nine awards to date. |
